A poem written by Preston’s Daddy
The plans that we made, and prayers that we prayed.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
You are our shining star, and forever will be from afar.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
The mistakes you would’ve made, I’d promise you they’d fade.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
We wanted to watch you grow, and teach you everything that we know.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
The friends you would’ve made, and the games you would’ve played.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
You gave us all such deep hope, please ask God to help us cope.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
Nothing will ever erase, the moment I first saw your precious face.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
I hope you know how much you’re loved, and you’re safe with our father above.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
The pain burns like hot sand, and we have put it in our Lords hands.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
Please help us learn how to grieve, knowing it was your time to leave.
Oh, how I wish you would’ve stayed
You went from the womb to the grave, on a path only God could pave.
Preston. Oh, How I wish, you would’ve stayed.
